Now this is some good stuff. One of the best things that you can do if you are in or about to participate in a Multi Level or lead driven business, is to analyze why some people seem to sponsor people effortlessly, while the majority struggle.

Prior to becoming a fulltime online network marketer and mentor, I would sit in meetings watching my successful up-line and do my best to duplicate everything they did; I always knew there was something different about them; it was something I could feel, but never put my finger on.

How? First let's define an Alpha, Pre-Alpha, and a Beta personality:

Alpha: An alpha is that guy or girl that is automatically one of the leaders in every situation. People flock to them on a sub-conscious level. They exude value and confidence at all times.

Pre-Alpha: A pre-alpha is someone aware of all the tools and knowledge to become a alpha. They are aware that they are on the way to a dominate leadership role; they may be starting to conduct their own meetings and asking for help only for absolutely necessary.

Beta: They typically have very little confidence or business value to offer (at least on the surface). This group is unsure in most situations. They typically live reactionary lives, where others dictate how it is so to speak. Complaining is always in season for these folks.

The good news is that wherever you are you can change it! I consider myself an alpha on my way to super-alpha! Even before I learned of this new way of conducting a successful MLM/Network marketing business, I had pretty good success with leadership and sponsoring.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that you can't do it. There is no one more deserving of a thriving MLM business than you. I mean that. You see, even though some people have alpha or automatic leadership karma, they revel in the fact that others don't have it!

MLMs? This is the Only Way I Would Do MLMs Again!

I am going to start with a short story that may sound familiar to you if you have any experience with MLMs or Multi Level Marketing companies. I have had a few MLM businesses including a Amway/Quickstar business, webtv and a couple more; and I was actually pretty good at all them. I am an consistent truth worthy guy so I am told and so I was able to sponsor quite a few people in a short period of time in all of these businesses.

However, on every occasion as I began to get through my list of prospects things would slow down a little and I would be left struggling to motivate my group and continue to sponsor more people for both me and them. Sounds like a lot of work right? It is!

In every case I would be left with a few very nice people in my MLM business and plenty of motivational stories about the guy making the real money at the top of the MLM business. (my upline) Well I started to notice a pattern after a while, I really didn't have a business, I was just in my up-lines group and the system was designed to keep me hungry for the dream by attending weekly meetings full of success stories. (see update below)

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against those who got in early and did the work to have an awesome residual income lifestyle. I did realize one thing however, the number one thing you have to do to be successful in MLMs is to sponsor/help as many people as you can over a fairly short amount of time. How many, 20, 30, 100 it really doesn't matter, the more the better.

The question is do you have the ability or vehicle to do this? If you don't, read the above story again and get ready to live it in most cases. Unless you are a person with considerable influence where people are hanging on your every word and will follow you into whatever you suggest; you probably are going to struggle with getting enough people. For instance, I know a guy that was pretty successful in one MLM and took his whole group and dropped them into a new program at the ground level, all at once. He is a millionaire now.

Now, if you notice, I have not said MLMs are all bad. There are some very solid companies out there that are helping large numbers of people live there dreams. But there has to be a better way to sponsor the large number of people over a few months time that will springboard your business.

The ideal business in my mind would look something like this. The company's financials would be top notch to insure the checks keep coming.

The sign-up would be free. The company would use or allow me to use every online marketing tool I could find. (legal of course) With all the online networking going on sites like Squidoo, MySpace, blogger, email, YouTube, and so on, it seems to me that all you would need to do is briefly explain that if you get in (for free) and spread the word to all that you can, everyone that gets in after you will serve to fatten your monthly check! (see update below)

In today's economy not knowing about something like this would have to be the only reason for not getting in. The company would have to have a product that everybody needs and can be benefit from. (at a affordable price) And preferably the product would be pretty new offering ground level entry to the business.

Even if you are in another business with a large contact/email list or whatever kind of network list, you could use the above example and inform and then drop your list into the business. Wow!

I think the term is to go viral with it! Promote it online until it is literally beyond anything you could imagine. That is the way a modern day MLM business should work! No meetings (except maybe a periodic webinar) No phone calls! Viral, viral, viral! This is the only way I would do MLM again!

Wow man, (UPDATE) I wrote this article sometime ago about my previous experience and detailed the conditions under which I would go for MLM/Network Marketing again. I have found the answer to all of the above recently.

I was way off considering the company too much. I was dead on when I spoke of the out dated sponsoring techniques. How I Helped to Create 20 MLM-Network Marketing Failures

Boy, it seems like a long time ago my first years in the MLM/Network marketing. I was raised to get a high-school education and get a good job. Only one of my siblings had gone to college in my family. During this time the late eighties, a high school graduate could still get a so called good job. Although looking back on it this time period was the beginning of the end of good paying long-term employment for a high-school graduate.

What Made Me Want More

I personally knew one guy who took full advantage of the American way. He was a sports agent and my brother in law. I truly didn't know anybody else doing anything but working a pretty regular job. This brother in law was an optimistic energetic sort, who seemed to want to pull others along in his realization of the American dream.

He started an Amway distributorship, and I was one of his first distributors. His business took off really fast locally because of his popularity. You see, he was an athletic star in high school and college in the area; that with his success as a sports agent, open personality, and hard work, made his business take off at a record pace.

My First MLM/Network Marketing Experience

When I think back on it, I was so excited and ready to change my circumstances. I took delivery of my kit and I was on my way. I was taught all the basic techniques. Make a list of everyone I knew, make X number of cold phone calls every day, talk to your friends and family first, be sure to attend weekly meeting bringing any guest you can.

I was given scripts on what to say to strangers in public. I was so ready to win that it didn't really matter what they, I was going to do it. My excitement paid off pretty fast. I sponsored approximately 20 new distributors was recognized by my up-line and even made some money.

How I Created 20 MLM/Network Marketing Doubters

All was well on my front line as it is called. But when I started to try to duplicate my efforts I found out that the above techniques were very difficult for my people. These days there are a lot of people questioning there participation in the American economic system. The Tried and true 40-40-40 plan has failed scores of very good hard working people. You know the drill, work 40 hours a day for 40 years to take a 40 percent pay-cut in retirement.

With Modern MLM-Network Marketing You Can Overcome Blood From a Turnip Financial Advice

I must admit that I am sort of a TV nerd. I love shows like sixty minutes and the News Hour on PBS. I flip through CNN news and other informational programming all the time. One of the reoccurring themes that I see now days is so called experts giving advice on personal finances.

Just a day or two ago, I saw another expert giving what I consider minimalist advice. I believe in being smart with your money, but after a while it just doesn't add up for a lot of people. Most of the repeated advice goes something like this.

You need to save an emergency fund (6 months living expenses) in case of a lay off or other emergency. You need to pay yourself first by saving a percentage of your salary before paying for or buying anything. You need to contribute the maximum to your 401k. You need to save a college fund for the kids; and on and on and on; and I haven't even mentioned enjoying life!

This is Blood From A Turnip Advice For Most People

The Problem I have with the above advice that I hear given over and over again is where is the money for all this good advice gonna come from? The average American could possibly achieve some of these things if they buy only the things they need in life; which creates another little problem since our economy is based on people buying over and above what they need. When Americans buy only what they need in life, the economy goes into recession. Salaries are stagnate at best for most people and the middle class is being squeeze more and more every day. Before I left the airline industry my salary/benefits were slashed by 35%.

Why Not MLM/Network Marketing

When I hear the advice of these experts, I sit there waiting for someone to state what I think is the obvious; people need more income. I know that if you are bad with money, more of it won't help you; but I am talking straight numbers here. There is just not enough money coming in for most families. Now I know the reputation that old school tactics have caused in MLM/Network Marketing, but you have to know the benefits that MLM offers can enable families to make large enough incomes to accomplish the above mentioned goals and have more time together as a family.

Now, I know what you are thinking, MLM/Network marketing would be great if I could build it without chasing people around! bugging my family and friends, printing flyers and so on. Well, if you were paying close attention, in the previous paragraph when I mentioned MLM/Network marketing I said old school MLM/Network marketing.

A 3-Step Action Plan For Laid-Off Workers

For the last year or so I have been watching more news programs than ever with the run-up to the recent election; and as you all know the layoffs are being reported in droves. Sitting there watching the daily reports made me think back on the time when I was laid off myself; and the attitude and actions that I took.

So I decided to write this article in hopes of help others come out on the other side of being laid off in a better financial position than ever.

Step One: Managing the Emotional Aspect of Being Laid Off Is Critical

Fortunately prior to my being laid off I was exposed to a lot of information concerning self esteem, self value and so on. I in other words was well on my way to believing in myself. The type of literature that I was reading simply validated a lot of the individual human values that I was taught as a child in church. Basically, what the creator thinks of you is the absolute truth; and in his eyes, you are magnificent!

In short the first thing you need to do is realize your value! Take it from a very shy and low key guy; the power is within you to change your own circumstances no matter how the world seems to say the opposite.

Your biggest enemy right now is fear and anxiety! I know you are extremely concerned about losing your income; but you have to find a way to direct your energy towards positive out comes.

Step Two: Rethink Your Income Potential. Consider Opportunities That Are Lay-off Proof.

I am a high school graduate, but even if you have a degree or several degrees, it would serve you well to consider alternative incomes that do not depend on the whims of your boss or the seemingly natural flow of many businesses of grow and then cut back. I always hated that the first ones to go were the people that actually do the work. Anyway, that's another article.

What I did, and you can do also is find a legitimate low cost online business to start. I am not saying that you should not follow the career advice of all the people on TV. I am just telling you from experience that you should try to participate in a small business that rewards you for your efforts!

That way you can build an income that will be there no matter what happens on the job. I also know that there are plenty of false promises, scams and so on online. I was ripped off over and over again before becoming a full time online marketer; and I promise you that anything that I suggest is tried and true! You can contact me on that! Step Three: Carefully Gather Information On Operating an Business Online.

Yes I said carefully. There are a lot of people out their that have no problem taking advantage of the situation that you are in. A good rule of thumb is; if you can contact the person behind the opportunity personally, the opportunity is probably legit. Even if its a email address that gives you a response within a day or 2, that is way better than nothing.

I took this route in and I am so glad that I did. I am now a full-time online marketer and I know that most people, especially over 40 years old, don't think that they know enough about the Internet to succeed. Well I am 47 and I admit, you do have to be open minded in order to succeed; but it can be done. Most of the technical things you need to know have been simplified. Everything from building websites to publishing articles like this can be done by anyone willing to take the time.

Just don't let fear stop you! No one is more deserving of financial success than you. You have to know that!

Why Building a List is Much Better Than Making a List For Your MLM-Network Marketing Business

In this article I will outline the major differences between making a list and building a list. I know that these two concepts sound very similar, but stay with me here and I will explain.

If you have a MLM/Network marketing business you are familiar with being told to MAKE a list of everyone you know as a tool for marketing your business; friends, family, Plummer, dentist, everybody. Now there are a few things about performing this old school network marketing task.

First of all your up-line or MLM Company means well by requesting that you MAKE this list. However, the problem with MAKING a list is that the people on the list are not qualified or vetted to use a modern term. In other words you have no idea whether or not these people are even interested in having business.

Another problem with MAKING a list is that most MLM/Network marketers are making their first attempt at owning a business. So the rejection inherent with prospecting individuals who have shown no interest in having a business kills their spirit rather quickly in most cases.

BUILDING A List Is The Way To Go:

Lately, MLM/Network Marketing has undergone a massive marketing/sponsoring/recruiting change. All of this is being done over the internet. BUILDING a list for your business goes something like this. Over the internet you put advertisements out using both free and paid sources. You provide useful content and or training in return for the names and email addresses of people that are INTERESTED in having a business.

Even with this list most of them will not join your MLM/Network Marketing business, at least not right away. However, they will be interested in more information and products to help them with whatever business they do choose. (Did you catch that?)

With the right marketing funnel you can BUILD a list of prospects for sponsoring, make money with those that do not join your opportunity and stop the revolving door in and out of your business by teaching your business partners how to use this system.

There are relatively few MLM/Network marketers that have knowledge of such a system. I recently discovered this system and my sponsoring/recruiting efforts are all online now.
